2019 NARA Seminar Service Project

NARA has chosen to support the New Orleans Women & Children's Shelter (NOWCS) at this year's Seminar and is encouraging attendees to bring items to donate to the shelter.

NOWCS is on a mission to enable women and their children to transition from a life of homelessness and poverty to one of stability and self-sufficiency. They provide for families from diverse backgrounds, including women over the age of 18 who are accompanied by children under the age of 18 and women in all stages of their pregnancy. Many of their clients are homeless for the first time in their lives. NOWCS keeps them safe and secure, with programs that keep their families together and provide tools as they do the hard work to achieve ongoing stability and success.

NOWCS is seeking the following items, which NARA will be collecting on-site from attendees:

• Kids undershirts or t-shirts
• Kids underwear (various sizes)
• Gift cards to purchase shoes (Walmart, Target, Visa, etc.)
