NARA Post-Conference Training Session

Implementing Best Practices for Human Care Regulation . . .
A Self-Assessment Tool to Improve Regulation

In an effort to fully prepare human care regulators to accomplish the requirements of their role at the micro and macro levels, NARA has collaborated with the Administration for Children and Families' Office of Child Care (OCC) to develop a comprehensive, multi-dimensional approach to strengthen concepts and practices in the profession.  This training session is targeted to regulators of child care, adult care and child welfare.

The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of the newly revised Best Practices for Human Care Regulation, which is one of the critical pieces intended to help define the key system characteristics of high-performing organizations. The session is intended to guide individuals through the self-assessment tool, which accompanies the Best Practices for Human Care Regulation, in order to increase consistency in the implementation of the best practices. Examples of organization activities will be provided so individuals will have the opportunity to practice using the self-assessment tool and analyze the results. Finally, the session will include an opportunity for individuals to develop strategies to use the best practices to improve human care regulation.

NARA’s goal is to help organizations grow, support, and enhance their regulatory role in protecting the health and safety of our vulnerable populations. Join the ranks of others that have taken the first steps to becoming an exceptional regulatory organization.

The training will be held in conjunction with the 2015 NARA Licensing Seminar.  The session will be held Wednesday, September 23rd, 1:30-4:30 p.m. and Thursday, September 24th, 8:30 -11:30 a.m. for a total of 6 clock hours.

This in-person training will be held at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.
