The Child Care Licensing Studied provides information collected about child care licensing programs and policies and the regulations for child care centers, small family child care (FCC) homes, and large/group FCC homes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Included are years: 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2023


 

State Assisted Living Regulations (Adult Care Survey)

With the recent growth of assisted living and expanding demands on state regulatory agencies to oversee this industry, NARA has undertaken a number of initiatives through its Adult Care Committee.  


 

Licensing Workload Assessment 

The number of licensing staff required to effectively implement a licensing program and the determination of an appropriate workload for staff in each category of human care providers are among the most critical administrative issues addressed by the licensing agencies. To assist states and provinces in determining the number of staff required to effectively regulate out-of-home care providers, NARA initiated the development of a workload assessment process.
